Which Vanity Mirror is Right For You?

No bathroom or powder room can be considered complete without a mirror over the sink.

We offer several types of vanity mirrors:

  • Wall-mounted mirrors that tilt up and down
  • Mirrors attached to decorative rails for wall mounting
  • Stylish ceiling-hung mirrors

All our mirrors are frameless and have beveled edges. They come in several shapes - round, oval, rectangular, arched, and landscape.

How do you decide which vanity mirror is right for you? Let's explore the options.

First, Choose a Shape for the Vanity Mirror

Unless you have already decided on a style - tilt, ceiling-hung, or with rails - most people choose a mirror shape first.

Large mirrors are best for larger bathrooms with plenty of wall space:

Shadwell Collection. Finish: Antique Brass

That said, many large bathrooms have double sinks and some people prefer smaller, individual mirrors over sinks. As for shape, it helps to consider the overall bathroom decor.

Two rectangular or circle mirrors in a farmhouse-style bathroom might feel cozier than a single large mirror, which complements a bathroom with modern touches like stainless steel and glass-enclosed showers.

This beautiful arched shape creates intimacy in a smaller bathroom or powder room:

Prestige Monte Carlo Collection. Finish: Satin Brass

We've also read "when in doubt, choose round" for a vanity mirror. A rail mount complements the utilitarian look of this contemporary, compact vanity:

Prestige Que New. Finish: Venetian Bronze.

If you're looking for a mirror in a small bathroom or powder room with little wall space, an oval mirror can add elegance and feel less cramped.

Wall Mounted or Tilt Mirror?

All our mirrors are available in rail-mounted styles or as tilt mirrors. Preference for one or the other really depends on a few factors.

Tilt mirrors can be adjusted up or down. This is helpful for people who want to see themselves from different angles, especially if they're being filmed or photographed.

Mirrors mounted on rails become an important part of room decor since the hardware is far more visible than on tilt mirrors. This oval mirror complements the classic skyline scene just outside the window by the vanity:

Ceiling-Hung Mirrors Deliver a Dramatic Statement

Ceiling-hung mirrors really change up the game!

Allied Brass's hangs from sturdy, 60" brass arms attached to the center of the mirror. The arms can be cut to adjust the hanging height.

These mirrors have the same design as our tilted wall-mounted mirrors, with beveled edges, no frame, and the same shapes and dimensions:

Round - 22" X 22"
Oval - 29" X 21"
Rectangle - 21" X 26"
Arched - 29" X 21"
Landscape - 21" X 26"

Got Lots of Towels? Hang Them on a Ladder Towel Bar.

Do you find yourself with a lot of damp towels and nowhere to hang them? The solution is a sturdy brass ladder towel bar from Allied Brass.

These smart towel ladders mount to walls and have four bars to hold multiple towels. The one below is from our Pacific Beach collection and features acrylic bars.

Finish: Antique Brass

We love the slight contrast between the antique brass finish and the wall it's mounted to, and how the acrylic echoes the off-white sink vanity.

Lots of Choices for Ladder Towel Bar Styles

We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to any of our towel holders. Allied Brass towel ladder bars are no exception and come in three sizes: 24", 30", and 36". A few collections, like Carolina and Carolina Crystal, offer them in a shorter 18" size.

Carolina Crystal Collection. Finish: Satin Brass

Contact us if the particular ladder bar you like isn't shown in the size you want. We can often accommodate special requests.

Choose a Decorative Ring Features

In addition, the acrylic collections - Clearview, Pacific Beach, and Pacific Grove -  offer four styles for the rings that connect the bars to the frame: smooth, grooved, twisted, and dotted. Contact us if you want a ring style for another collection.

More Color Choices Than Ever!

These are just a few of the new colors we just added to our palette. We'll continue to offer custom coloring services as well.

Use These Ladder Towel Bars For More Than Towels

Our ladder-style towel bars are attractive enough to use for displays.

For example, we could see using this ladder towel bar from our Waverly Place collection to show hand-crafted crafted quilts or rugs:

Finish: Brushed Bronze

A ladder bar from the Pipeline collection is a perfect choice for displaying fabrics in a specialty shop:

Finish: Satin Nickel

Guest-Friendly Bathroom Accessories

Do you have a guest-friendly bathroom?

Even if you don't have an extra bathroom for the occasional guest, you can still make your space shareable without sacrificing style. We have several bathroom accessories that make the most of the space you have, especially when the second bedroom or couch is open for guests.

The Ultimate Bathroom Organizer

Let's start with a host's best friend - an all-brass, wall-mounted bathroom organizer that offers a hair dryer holster ring, another ring to secure a tumbler, and a 15" arm to hold a towel. The towel arm and rings both swivel into the position you want.

This one is from our Monte Carlo collection and finished in an elegant polished nickel. Click on the image to preview more finishes.

Note the fleur-de-lis design found on all Monte Carlo mounting plates.

You'll find bathroom/hair dryer organizers in several of our larger collections:

  • Dottingham
  • Prestige Que New
  • Prestige Regal
  • Prestige Skyline
  • Waverly Place

We also offer this graceful vanity top organizer with ring holsters:

Finish: Antique Bronze

Towel Shelves Deliver Easy Access to Towels

We used to see towel shelves only in hotel bathrooms and wondered why they weren't in our homes as well? So we added these fantastic space-savers to several of our collections.

This towel shelf from our Pipeline collection includes a towel bar:

 Finish: Antique Bronze

This shelf is available in 18", 24", 20", and 36" lengths.

Many of our towel bars are railroad track styles that stack towels and include hooks and a towel bar, like this one from our Waverly Place collection:

Finish: Satin Brass

Railroad track towel shelves come in 24", 20", and 36" lengths.

Never Run Out Of TP Again!

We've all found ourselves in the uncomfortable position of having not enough  - or worse - no TP when we need it.

Don't be one of those hosts who overlooks TP access when guests stay over. Consider one of our stylish reserve or multi-roll toilet paper holders like this one from our Que New collection:
Que New 2 roll reserve toilet paper holder
Finish: Antique Copper

If you have a powder room, your guests will surely appreciate a multi-roll holder with a glass or wood shelf over the rolls. Here's one with a glass shelf from our Prestige Regal collection:

Finish: Antique Brass

The shelf is made from thick safety glass that's several times stronger than regular glass. In the unlikely event the glass breaks, it fractures into small pieces instead of large, sharp-edged shards.

Here is a wood shelf over three rolls, from our Prestige Skyline collection:

 Finish: Antique Copper

All of their wood shelves are made with sustainable Ipe hardwood. See more toilet paper holders with wood shelves.

Allied Brass also has an inventory of TP holders with glass shelves. All our two- and three-roll holders can be ordered for vertical or horizontal orientation - with or without shelves.

You'll also find single-roll holders with shelves.
