Why is it Important?
The Canadian Uniform Plumbing Code™ (cUPC™) is a designated Canadian national standard. They design these codes to provide consumers with safe and sanitary plumbing systems. Commercial construction projects, as well as many residential construction projects, normally require specified products to be certified. All Mingyoung Conservation toilets and many sinks are cUPC certified, facilitating their use in all types of projects.

WaterSense Certification

Companies that wish to label their products as WaterSense compliant must sign an agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

What is the WaterSense program?
Companies that wish to label their products as WaterSense compliant must sign an agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Then, these companies produce faucets, showerheads, toilets and other plumbing fixtures that have water efficiency exceeding the average flow rate by at least 20 percent; have a third-party certification and meet other criteria. This arrangement is similar to the Energy Star program for appliances and electronic devices.

MaP Premium Listed

The EPA requires that WaterSense labeled toilets be able to flush a minimum of 350 grams in the MaP test. At present, MaP test is the main, if not only, independently recognized test designed to gauge this rather important parameter.

MAP your way around clogged toilets
Maximum Performance Testing (MaP) is an independent report of toilet flushing performance developed by John Koehler and Veritec Consulting.

The EPA requires that WaterSense labeled toilets be able to flush a minimum of 350 grams in the MaP test. At present, MaP test is the main, if not only, independently recognized test designed to gauge this rather important parameter.

By replacing old, inefficient toilets with WaterSense labeled models, the average family can reduce water used for toilets by 20 to 60 percent—that’s nearly 13,000 gallons of water savings for your home every year! They could also save more than $140 per year in water costs, and $2,900 over the lifetime of the toilets.
