An included utility shelf provides additional storage and easy access for your toiletries, or other essential items. The teak stool is 24" in length by 13" in width by 23" high. Teak is naturally water, mold, and mildew resistant due to its natural density and high oil content. It has been the wood of choice for hundreds of years of luxury boat builders. This natural resistance has been supplemented by using our proprietary DecoTeak stain which is a deep penetrating stain with added mold, mildew, and fungus inhibitors. It provides the ability for this teak furniture to be used outdoors as well as indoors. This bench comes standard with adjustable foot leveling pads to provide added stability to compensate for any sloped surfaces such as shower floors, and patio floors.

Our combination of safety features includes arms, as well as non-slip adjustable leveling pads on all feet. So when we talk about ergonomic furniture today, we're referring to features that help your body to work in a way that it naturally was designed to function.  Unfortunately, many of the ergonomic furniture options on the market today focus on functionality at the expense of style.  We say, why not have the best of both? That's just the idea behind the design of DecoTeak's ergonomic teak benches and stools.  We combined clinical research on the best height, width and arm rest positions for ergonomic function with sleek, modern styling.  The result - A mix of elegance and comfort designed specifically for those who are mobility-impaired, elderly, arthritic or simply mindful of taking care of their bodies in even the simplest of ways.   Moving from standing to sitting, and sitting to standing, is one of the most common tasks we perform every day, and is usually taken for granted. However, as we get older, it is also a surprisingly physically challenging task, especially for mobility impaired, elderly, or arthritis sufferers. Significant clinical research has shown that traditional chairs, with a typical height of 17”-18”, place significant stress and strain on both the hips and knees. Extensive research has shown that two simple chair interventions can greatly reduce the stress placed on the body when moving from sitting to standing positions: Providing armrests to allow the arms to lift, or support the body when transitioning from sitting to standing positions. Raising the height of seats to 23”. This height was found to be optimal to reduce the strain and increase the efficiency to rise or sit down in a chair severalfold. With the new DecoTeak® product line our design team incorporated leading ergonomic research into elegant contemporary designs. Research has shown that the use of arms when going from a seating to a standing position can decrease the strain on muscles, and joints and provide up to 300% increased mobility.  Almost all of the DecoTeak® benches and stools are designed with built-in arms to allow customers to conveniently grip the arms as they lift themselves out of the seats. Teak Care

Maintaining & Cleaning Teak Furniture

Regular cleaning of your teak wilt help prevents mildew build-up and potential discoloration. A quick wash with mild dish soap and water usually does the trick. Make sure to use a soft plastic brush as metal brushes can scratch and damage the wood's surface. Some harder-to-clean stains can be removed with Loveable Teak Cleaner (Recommended for DecoTeak and EcoDecors products - sold separately)

To begin, clear a space to clean your furniture.

Apply your cleaning mixture to the teak item using a soft plastic brush and scrub into the wood as you apply. Allow the mixture to sit for about 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. When cleaning is complete, allow the bench to dry. After the bench is completely dry, apply some Loveable Teak Oil (Recommended for DecoTeak and EcoDecors products - sold separately) 

Please be sure to follow the instructions and wipe any excess oil from the bench.

Teak bathroom and shower products are guaranteed against defects in materials, workmanship, and construction only. Excluded are normal wear and tear, including finish wear, surface cracks that are not structural, and the existence of mold. Mold is one of the most common elements in a moist environment, and the benches themselves do not grow mold. Please use the recommended care and cleaning instructions to prolong the life of your finish and product. Soaps and shampoos will degrade the finish of the products if left on them. Maximum warranty is limited to one replacement item of the same or similar if a product has been discontinued.
