Our DecoTeak zen harmony 30" teak eastern-influenced shower bench with shelf & LiftAide arms provides a subtle eastern elegance. Its swooped flared arms not only provide a design flair but also provide functional arms for gripping to lift yourself out of the bench. The curvilinear designs of the seat, legs, and shelf provided added contemporary elegance to your shower. The extra wide seat of 18" provides a more roomy and comfortable seating area for those who need extra space due to body stature, or just want a little extra room.

The size of 30" length x 14" width x 18" height will make a tremendous design statement to your contemporary shower, or bathroom. The included utility shelf also provides an extra storage area for toiletries, shampoo, or other shower accessories. Extensive clinical research has shown that by simply providing arms to assist in lifting out of a chair, the added leverage can increase efficiency by almost 200%.

The LiftAide arms are designed to be sturdy, and steady to provide that added support and assistance when lifting out of the shower chair. They also provide a handy surface for hanging towels on, and the bench can double as a towel rack once you are out of the shower. An included utility shelf provides additional storage and easy access for your toiletries, or other essential items. The included foot leveling pads provide extra flexibility and stability to allow stabilization due to any minor slope in shower floors.

Teak is naturally water, mold, and mildew resistant due to its natural density and high oil content. It has been the wood of choice for hundreds of years of luxury boat builders. This natural resistance has been supplemented by using our proprietary Deco Teak stain which is a deep penetrating stain with added mold, mildew, and fungus inhibitors. It provides the ability for this teak furniture to be used outdoors as well as indoors.

DecoTeak's ergonomic teak bench stools deliver both.  The term "ergonomics" is derived from two Greek words meaning "work" and "natural laws." So when we talk about ergonomic furniture today, we're referring to features that help your body to work in a way that it naturally was designed to function.  Unfortunately, many of the ergonomic furniture options on the market today focus on functionality at the expense of style.  We say, why not have the best of both? That's just the idea behind the design of DecoTeak's ergonomic teak benches and stools.  We combined clinical research on the best height, width and arm rest positions for ergonomic function with sleek, modern styling.  The result - A mix of elegance and comfort designed specifically for those who are mobility-impaired, elderly, arthritic or simply mindful of taking care of their bodies in even the simplest of ways.   Moving from standing to sitting, and sitting to standing, is one of the most common tasks we perform every day, and is usually taken for granted. However, as we get older, it is also a surprisingly physically challenging task, especially for mobility impaired, elderly, or arthritis sufferers. Significant clinical research has shown that traditional chairs, with a typical height of 17”-18”, place significant stress and strain on both the hips and knees. Extensive research has shown that two simple chair interventions can greatly reduce the stress placed on the body when moving from sitting to standing positions: Providing armrests to allow the arms to lift, or support the body when transitioning from sitting to standing positions. Raising the height of seats to 23”. This height was found to be optimal to reduce the strain and increase the efficiency to rise or sit down in a chair severalfold. With the new DecoTeak product line our design team incorporated leading ergonomic research into elegant contemporary designs. Research has shown that the use of arms when going from a seating to a standing position can decrease the strain on muscles, and joints and provide up to 300% increased mobility. Almost all of the DecoTeak benches and stools are designed with built-in arms to allow customers to conveniently grip the arms as they lift themselves out of the seats. This also provides added safety in a shower environment.  This will provide greater comfort, mobility, and safety not only for the elderly but for all of us.    Several of our benches and stools are being offered in the Lift Aide Extended Height versions. Clinical research has shown the optimal height of chairs and stools to be 23”. Maintaining & Cleaning Teak Furniture

Regular cleaning of your teak wilt helps prevent mildew build-up and potential discoloration. A quick wash with mild dish soap and water usually does the trick. Make sure to use a soft plastic brush as metal brushes can scratch and damage the wood's surface. Some harder-to-clean stains can be removed with Loveable Teak Cleaner (Recommended for DecoTeak and EcoDecors products - sold separately)

To begin, clear a space to clean your furniture.

Apply your cleaning mixture to the teak item using a soft plastic brush and scrub into the wood as you apply. Allow the mixture to sit for about 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. When cleaning is complete, allow the bench to dry. After the bench is completely dry, apply some Loveable Teak Oil (Recommended for DecoTeak and EcoDecors products - sold separately) 

Please be sure to follow the instructions and wipe any excess oil from the bench.

Teak bathroom and shower products are guaranteed against defects in materials, workmanship, and construction only. Excluded are normal wear and tear, including finish wear, surface cracks that are not structural, and the existence of mold. Mold is one of the most common elements in a moist environment, and the benches themselves do not grow mold. Please use the recommended care and cleaning instructions to prolong the life of your finish and product. Soaps and shampoos will degrade the finish of the products if left on them. Maximum warranty is limited to one replacement item of the same or similar if a product has been discontinued.
