The sauna or parts must be placed in an indoor environment unless the sauna or parts are specifically bought for outdoor/indoor use. If an indoor sauna or parts are placed in an outdoor environment, the warranty shall be null and void and of no further force and effect.

A sauna is a heat-generating product, and because of such nature, wood selection is extremely important in the sauna building. Far North Saunas' feature: The highest quality Grade 'A' Canadian Western Red Cedar. In their own Lumber Mill, they directly control the entire process from raw material and selection to the finished sauna. They only use the finest quality, hand-picked center-cut wood. The entire manufacturing process and high-quality construction begin with the selection of the proper raw materials.

Enlighten Sauna's Canadian office directly purchases the best quality Western Red Cedar Wood from British Columbia, Canada. Lumber is shipped to their 200,000 square-foot factory. The finest center-cut parts are chosen and immediately fresh-air dried for 4 weeks to preserve the beauty and natural elements of the wood. Each piece of lumber is visually inspected and handpicked. Lumber must have a clear & vertical grain (avoiding the flat grain). Very few companies in the industry have the ability of exclusivity in choosing the finest lumber, as they do.

Enlighten Sauna guarantees that all the products they build are made from non-toxic materials. Environmental Report, they are one of the only companies on the market who can make this statement. They only use non-toxic glue in their products and components.

INITIAL DRY

When the lumber arrives at the factory, the lumber is first sorted by length, size, grade, & grain. All wood must go through a drying phase before milling begins. To prevent any collapsing of the wood, the lumber sits in the yard for a minimum of three weeks. “Collapsing" means the fiber cells of the wood shrink due to water retention and microbial distress. If collapsing occurs, it can cause defects in the surface of the lumber. Collapsing is not a usual phenomenon, however, they take a precaution to ensure proper drying and monitor the entire process.

AIR DRYING LUMBER

THEY TAKE THEIR TIME! Lumber is then ripped into various sizes for sauna panels. Chosen pieces are then air-dried further. As said in a prior description of the process, shrinkage (or collapsing) causes changes to the lumber which can result in poor fitting panels. This would be detrimental to the quality of their sauna product. Therefore, they avoid any poorly dried lumber by only choosing the best air-dried pieces to be used for production.

KILN DRYING LUMBER

Once an air-dry process is complete, the blanks are then placed in their high-quality kilns. The most important step before production is the Kiln Drying. Lumber will reach its best moisture content in kilns. Many companies have problems as they only air-dry their lumber and it drops its moisture content to 20%, which is too high for stability and may result in mold, rotting, and shorter lifespan. It is important to not rush the drying process. Therefore, the final and ready-to-build lumber will contain 6-8% of moisture. Once this is achieved, the final product is beautiful, strong, and durable wood which now can be used for building.

With an indoor infrared sauna – that is all you get – you do not have the option of the outdoor conversion because the materials an indoor sauna is built with, are not suited to withstand nature's elements. In addition, the heaters in an indoor sauna will take longer to heat up due to the outdoor climate changes.

Enlighten saunas give you the option - should your circumstances change - to convert your outdoor unit into an indoor infrared sauna. All Enlighten saunas come with a standard flat roof but are also equipped with an easy-to-remove shingle roof for indoor conversion. The two deciding factors are - space preference and the amount of cost.

It is generally accepted that exposure to EMF should not exceed 3 milligauss. The EPA (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) has proposed a safety standard of 3 mG.

The easiest way to shield EMF is to cover electricity flow with metal. Enlighten Sauna uses steel conduits around its wiring within the walls of our saunas. On the carbon heaters themselves, however, a metal covering would also block the infrared waves. Allow your sauna to warm up for 15-20 minutes or until it reaches 110F° (43°C). You may close the vent on the ceiling to speed up the preheating process. Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration before and after the sauna session. It is recommended not to exceed 40 minutes per session. If the sauna becomes stuffy, open the vent on the ceiling to allow fresh air into the sauna.

Tips:

• Start using the sauna within 10 degrees before it reaches the set temperature, in order to receive the most benefit out of the infrared heaters. For example, if you set the sauna to 125F° (52°C), you should start using the sauna when it reaches 115F° (46°C).
• Customers reported an average use temperature of 125 F° (52°C).

Precautions and Warnings!

• If the temperature becomes unbearable, decrease the temperature or shut off the sauna immediately.
• Do not use if pregnant or have serious inflammation, fever, a communicable disease, acute bleeding, or are intoxicated.
• Do not consume alcohol or drugs when using the sauna.
• Do not splash water on the heaters or any electrical component inside the sauna.
• Do not bring wet towels into your sauna or any substances that could harm the interior of your sauna.
• Do not install a lock on your sauna.
• All repairs need to be authorized by the supplier's representative; otherwise, the product warranty may be voided.

Note: Although an Infrared Sauna is very health beneficial to the human body, it may not be for everyone. The customer acknowledges his/her responsibilities as the sauna user at his/her own risk. Children under 6 years of age should not be using an infrared sauna! Customers should discuss with a pediatrician/family physician before considering their minor child/youth (6-18 years) joining them in infrared sauna sessions. Children and minors under 18 years of age should ALWAYS be accompanied by an adult. NEVER leave your children unattended and/or alone in an infrared sauna booth, and always monitor your child's comfort level. Children are more sensitive to heat than adults, so please ensure their safety and comfort first. If you are nursing or pregnant, please discuss with your physician before using any sauna products.

Cleaning and Maintenance

• Make sure to always keep the sauna dry and clean. Use a clean damp towel to wipe off the bench, floor, and around the back panel.
• DO NOT use a towel that is too wet and can drip water inside the sauna and DO NOT use cleaning agents inside the sauna.
• DO NOT leave towels, water glasses, or bottles inside the sauna after use. Wipe the exterior surface of the sauna with a towel and clean the glass at least once a month.

Wood Care

• If the sauna exterior body has become scratched or scuffed, it could be concealed by using a small amount of furniture polish, oil, or other furniture treatment. The interior blemishes, scratches, or scuffs can be either left alone, sanded or a combination of gluing plus sanding. Avoid any treatment containing benzene or a high concentration of alcohol.
• Outdoor models' body need to be maintained on a regular basis (between 6 months to a year) by polishing or resealing the body as needed. If the varnish is cracked or worn off, sand the surface and re-varnish the affected area.
