IlBagnoAlessi is a bathroom design that has cast its spell over the home design world for years: It is characterized by a timeless form, sparkling imagination, and a hint of eccentricity. This design award-winning ensemble is the creation of Italian designer star, Stefano Giovannoni.

Born in 2002 from the creativity of famous Italian designer Stefano Giovannoni, IlBagnoAlessi is one of Laufen’s most successful collections. Based on 15 years of successful cooperation between Laufen and Alessi, the range is one of the most complete and sustainable ever produced on an industrial scale. The IlBagnoAlessi collection is continuously being enriched with new elements and designs, from countertops and freestanding washbasins to bathtubs, from toilets to the furnishings and accessories made in our world-class SaphirKeramik.

The creative and inspiring IlBagnoAlessi collection is a highly innovative and growing project, which, according to Alberto Alessi, “Stefano was able to freely and adroitly draw from the extensive vocabulary of forms that have been made available to humankind, creating objects that are at once more striking and more human”.

cUPC/ASME Compliant

The Uniform Plumbing Code (cUPC) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) are trade organizations that cooperatively meet to create mechanical design and test routines for plumbing products. These are trade organizations tasked with creating guidelines for safe and interchangeable products that provide value for consumers and competition among manufacturers. All of Laufen Bathroom ceramic products (unless noted otherwise) meet the design requirements and laboratory testing demands of these organizations. Organizations that provide this testing routine include the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO Group), which has issued several of Laufen’s certifications.

Laufen Clean Coat (LCC)

The Laufen Clean Coat (LCC) logo can be seen on the Alessi One bathroom collections. LCC is one of the most groundbreaking ceramic finishes on the market; it is virtually poreless and smooth to the touch. This sophisticated ceramic finish ensures that particles of dirt and bacteria can be simply rinsed off with water, thus, the ceramic stays clear of debris and is easier to clean. Due to the glaze-in-glaze method, where the LCC glaze is directly melted with the ceramic, the smooth finish of LCC remains hard and robust.

Warranty

	Laufen branded ceramic products and all bathtubs (acrylic, Santec, Marbond) are warranted against defects in material and/or workmanship for a period of five (5) years from the date of original purchase.
	Furniture items including vanities, wall cabinets, and related accessories are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase.
	Components such as bolts, fill and flush valves, drains, and seats with covers are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase.

Designer: Stefano Giovanni

Stefano Giovannoni’s expressive designs skilfully play with the symbols and metaphors of the sub-conscious and their narrative qualities are fascinating. The brands Stefano Giovannoni works with include Alessi, Flos, Helit, Inda, Laufen, Magis, Oras, Seiko, 3M and many others. Not only does he design industrial products in the fields of kitchen, bathroom, furniture, the home, cars and electronics, he also designs interiors and architecture. His work is part of the permanent archive at the Georges Pompidou Centre in Paris and at the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Stefano Giovannoni was born in 1954 in La Spezia and studied architecture in Florence. Today he lives and works in Studio Giovannoni, a restored old factory area in Milan city centre. With "IlBagnoAlessi One" he has placed one of the most remarkable bathroom designs of recent years on the market. The Tam-Tam floorstanding washbasin, with its rounded, soft shape which highlights the organic aspect of the bathroom, received a Design Plus award and is the visual anchor and determining design feature of the bathroom, which is a cooperative venture between Alessi, Laufen and Oras. In 2010 Giovannoni has again been commissioned with the creation of a comprehensive extension of IlBagnoAlessi One, which was presented with the Good Design Award 2011. In 2014 additional new objects for the popular collection followed, including for the first time accessories made of the revolutionary SaphirKeramik of Laufen.

Designer Stefano Giovannoni: “Immediately I started work on the Alessi bathroom project I quickly realised that the tub and ceramic components symbolise the nurturing aspect in bathrooms – the feminine world – curvaceous and soft. I tried to use this symbol in various features of the bathroom: This is obvious in the case of the ceramics, which are always pretty close to this archetypal symbol”.
